Hi, I’m Bekah

I’m a mental health therapist, who is passionate supporting women in their journey of recovery and healing, particularly from trauma and food and body disorders,

I have a Bachelor of Social Work degree as well as a Masters in Mental Health Practice plus numerous other short course professional development certificates and qualifications.

I have worked in non-government, public mental health and now private practice. Each providing their own scope of learning.

So, I am confident, that regardless of your presenting issues, I am working with you to support through them.

Early on

I grew up in rural Tasmania, on a hobby farm, where we ate what we grew. But we were significantly affected, when both my parents lost their jobs during the 1980’s recession, and I spent most of my childhood living on low-income benefits, something that caused my family a lot of shame, as both my parents come from families with strong work ethic. I also experienced persistent childhood sexual assault in my later primary school days, resulting in a significant impact on my own self-esteem, self-worth and sense of self.

Current

I have recently been nominated and short-listed for Australian Social Worker of the year. This is a reflection of the hard work and dedication I put into supporting others through their difficulties. My lived experience plus my learnt experience makes a fantastic combination to assist you through whatever may be happening in your life, that is preventing you from being the best version of you, you can be.
Today, I can confidently say, I know who I am, and I am proud of everything I have done to get here.
My greatest dream is assisting as many people as possibly to be able to achieve this same sense of self.
